Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Rocky Mount

The hotel is in a good location, tucked off the main road. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern. The breakfast looked decent, and they did have it ready a few minutes before promised; we had to leave too early both mornings to enjoy it. The shower curtain was torn in multiple places, and the doors rattled down the hallway any time someone closed a door. One of the elevator cars was broken during our stay; sounds like a recurring problem.

Great place to stay. The rooms were clean and spacious. But what really set Fairfield apart was Shanika and Dominique. They went out of their way to help us. Shanika kept the breakfast coming. And Dominique, on the frnt desk, was very accommodating- which was much appreciated after a long day of volleyball .

Customer service was great all around from check-in to checkout. Very clean. Breakfast & coffee was ok for hotel food, better than most.

This was such a nice, clean, comfortable stay. Great location from I-95 and easy to find. No funky smells, the pillow selection was great for each bed, and the beds were so comfortable. Plenty quiet, air conditioning ran quietly and steadily so we weren’t hot/cold/hot/cold all night. Good selection at breakfast and very friendly, welcoming staff. Ladies, be sure to wear a sweater in the breakfast room. It is freezing in there! When we left the next morning, the parking lot was completely full, so I think others agree what a great stay it is.

Nice value. Clean rooms and great beds. Just wish they had fresh oatmeal not premade cups.

I have a pretty bad allergy to dust and dust mites and Cocamidopropyl betaine (which is a thickening agent added to a lot of soaps and detergents). I get nervous sleeping in hotels, because if they’re dusty or use cheap detergent, I have a bad reaction and can’t sleep. I often have to go sleep in the car. Anyway, this hotel was very clean. I had no allergy symptoms! When I laid on the bed, I thought it was crazy soft and would have preferred a firmer bed, but I slept very well. The room was dark and stayed dark in the morning until we opened curtains. The bathroom was roomy and comfortable with everything we needed for a brief one night stay on a road trip. The breakfast, which included individual servings of quiche were really good and the coffee was good enough that we filled our Yeti travel cups for the road. The other guests were quiet and friendly, the employees were friendly and hard working - especially the breakfast attendant - she was constantly restocking supplies in a visually appealing way and wiping counters. I would stay here again (and kinda surprised by the low reviews for this hotel).

Check in was quick and our room was clean and well kept. There seemed to be some staff issues during breakfast and items were running low, but the woman at the front desk came over to help the kitchen staff and ease some of the chaos. Would stay here again!
